Dr Danial Lomani | Biological & Holistic Dentist
Dr Danial Lomani is a general dentist with a strong interest in biological dentistry, ceramic implantology, restorative dentistry and minimally invasive approaches to patient care. His philosophy is centred on preserving healthy natural tooth structure wherever possible, while carefully considering function, aesthetics and the long-term health of each patient.
With experience across regional and metropolitan Victoria, Dr Danial has developed a broad clinical foundation in preventive and restorative dentistry. His clinical interests also include surgical dentistry, ceramic dental implants and comprehensive treatment planning.
Dr Danial has a particular interest in biological dentistry and ceramic implantology, and is continuing to develop his knowledge and clinical skills in these areas through ongoing education and mentorship. Inspired by the philosophy and clinical approach of Dr Lisa Matriste, he is expanding his understanding of biologically considered treatment, biocompatible materials and advanced technologies that support minimally invasive dentistry and optimal healing.
His interests in implant dentistry include metal-free ceramic implants, digital guided implant surgery and comprehensive treatment planning. He is also continuing his studies in orthodontics, Holistic Invisalign, full-mouth rehabilitation and laser dentistry, building on his experience with digital dentistry and computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) for crowns and bridges.
Dr Danial believes that good dentistry begins with listening. His calm and approachable manner helps patients feel comfortable asking questions and understanding their treatment choices. He aims to make complex dental decisions clear and meaningful, so patients can participate confidently in their care.
Dr Danial graduated from La Trobe University, Melbourne in 2021 with a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Dentistry and a Master of Dentistry. Since graduating, he has practised across regional and metropolitan Victoria, including Wonthaggi, and has undertaken clinical training and experience in Bendigo and Ballarat.
His regional experience has played an important role in shaping his approach to dentistry. Working with patients across a broad range of dental needs has strengthened his clinical judgement and reinforced the importance of continuity, trust and accessible care. It has also given him an appreciation of the practical barriers that can affect a person’s ability to pursue treatment, including travel, cost and access to a broader range of dental care.
Dr Danial is particularly interested in developing a comprehensive approach to implant and biomimetic dentistry. His training in digital guided implant surgery, together with experience in CAD/CAM dentistry, supports his interest in precise treatment planning and restorations that are carefully designed to restore both function and natural aesthetics.
His growing interest in biological dentistry and ceramic implantology reflects his broader commitment to considering not only the immediate dental concern, but also the materials used, preservation and regeneration of healthy tissues, and the patient’s overall treatment experience.
At Laser and Holistic Dental, Dr Danial is immersed in a practice founded on the principles of biological dentistry, where advanced laser technology, biocompatible materials and innovative treatment approaches are integral to patient care. This environment supports his ongoing professional development and growing understanding of holistic and biological dentistry, with an emphasis on preserving natural tooth structure and supporting long-term oral health.
Dr Danial also has a strong commitment to community care. His refugee background has given him a personal understanding of some of the barriers people may experience when navigating an unfamiliar healthcare system. He has volunteered to support refugees and migrants in understanding and accessing dental care, and values creating an environment where every patient feels heard, respected and comfortable asking questions.
His approach is centred on conservative, thoughtful and personalised dentistry preserving healthy structures wherever possible, caring for the individual behind the dental problem, and planning treatment with long-term function and wellbeing in mind.
Outside dentistry, Dr Danial practises Persian calligraphy, an art form that has strengthened his appreciation for proportion, balance, precision and attention to detail. He brings this same appreciation to restorative and cosmetic dentistry, where subtle differences in shape, contour and proportion can influence both function and the natural appearance of a smile.
He also holds a second dan black belt in Taekwondo and enjoys cycling, golf, walking and ocean swimming.
Fluent in English, Hazaragi, Dari and Persian.
