Wisdom Teeth Removal
High tech, fast healing wisdom teeth removal
Many patients suffer from ‘impacted’ wisdom teeth, where the teeth are not growing correctly – pushing and damaging on other teeth. In most cases it is recommended that impacted wisdom teeth are removed to prevent future complications.
Some of the typical complications caused by wisdom teeth are shown below.
The Wisdom Teeth Removal Process
The first step to having your wisdom teeth removed is to get up to date scans, so your dentist can see if your wisdom teeth are impacted or growing normally.
At Laser + Holistic Dental we prefer CBCT scans for much greater levels of detail relative to a standard x-ray – producing 3D images of your teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways and bones. The CBCT scan can be done in-house after your initial consultation, although if you have recently had a scan at another clinic we would be more than happy to source it for you.
After reviewing the scans our dentists will explain the complexity of your case and recommend a particular surgical approach.
At Laser + Holistic Dental our approach to wisdom teeth removal is designed to minimise pain and swelling and to accelerate healing to get you back to your normal life as quickly as possible. To do this, we use a number of advanced technologies that aren’t used by most other practitioners.
One of these technologies is CGF – a stem cell grafting technique to improve wound healing and reduce pain and inflammation. Another is using Osteon to create ‘sticky bone’ – acting as a scaffold for your body to rebuild new bone around.
At Laser + Holistic Dental we also use lasers during the tooth extraction process for disinfecting and to stimulate the surrounding tissues to heal.
