At Laser + Holistic Dental we have a careful and thorough approach to orthodontics for children – developing the jaw bone in stages throughout the child’s growth to create great results. Specialists recommending extraction of teeth or jaw surgery are usually approaching a problem from a speed perspective – which in our opinion is a shortsighted approach.

Extracting teeth to deal with overcrowding will mean children develop with narrow dental arches, reduced airway volume and large gaps in the sides of their smiles.

At Laser + Holistic Dental we have never needed to extract a child’s permanent tooth due to crowding problems.

Treatment Options

Depending on the age of the child, there are a number of treatment options available. Laser + Holistic Dental prefers Invisalign for most orthodontic treatments – suitable for children in their teen years.

Invisalign is an alternative to braces that is virtually invisible. It is hygienic, comfortable and is a healthier alternative than metal braces for the patient.

For young children we offer a range of plate designs to direct favourable growth, align teeth, improve airway volume and the child’s natural biomechanics.
